So there I was, idly entertaining notions of a nice, sane, sensible prompt. The Savage Land, where Tony as Freddy Mercury could walk his dinosaur. Invisible buttsex, with buttsex and invisibility. And then... someone... said...

Cows.

And someone else said "Cows!" And all of a sudden, everyone was saying, "COWS!" It was like a thunderstorm of Holsteins, Jerseys, Guernseys, splatting all about me and me huddling beneath IronLawyer plaintively muttering about invisible dinosaur butts.

So, I, mod # .5, created a cow-themed prompt.

Iron Cowboy, I called it.

This is what I think an Iron Cowboy looks like:

I think he goes well with the song Sex Shooter. Tony's a (beat) sex shooter, shooting love in your direction. He's a (slap) sex shooter, come and play with his... affection.

Iron Lawyer described this as:

Super sexy cowboy Tony poses with his shirt off, and gun at his hip. "Come get this, Sheriff Steve."

Cool... no cows so far!

So we went to GemAnthony, who provided the following masterpiece:

While I drooled, I'm pretty sure this song was suggested for the mix tape to our little road trip to Marlboro Country.

I showed this to the lucky RowanTree, who responded with the prompt:
Tony Stark is standing in the desert, the sky very blue behind him. There's mountains in the distance. He's also only wearing a cowboy hat and jeans. How is he not sunburned? We don't know, but presumably lots of slathering of sunscreen was involved.

This inspired Wynnesome:

.

We joked about a few songs for this, but settled on this, which by all rights should be accompanied by the Full Monty video for this particular purpose.

I wept that cake was writing a prompt, not arting, but then I wept that Cake's prompt was so good.

He stands in a field, the bright sun strokes his back even though we do not see it. He is surrounded by nature on all sides, mountains bordering his back and lettuce growing at his feet. The sky is cloudy and yet he hides his face from the glare of the sun underneath his cowboy hat. His pants are unbuttoned and his gleaming torso is perfectly sculpted and bare to the viewer, and perhaps it is this what makes him long to hide, rather than the sun. He is posing despite his hesitance. A hand holds on to his hat, shielding his eyes, but exposing his pout, and his other hand snakes behind his back.. is he holding his pants from slipping? perhaps...or perhaps he is unsure where else to put it, having been caught in such a position in his field. His shadow lounges behind him on the ground, unashamed in its exposure, even if he is.

And had a song, too.

Thing Explainer had this to draw:

And Cathalinaheart came back with this prompt:

Tony had known that Steve was helping out over on the Barnes farm with repairing the fence. But he wasn't prepared for the sight that greeted him when he walked by. His eyes nearly fell out of his head.
The sheriff was leaning against the fence, tipping his hat down to shield his face from the sun. He wasn't wearing shoes or a shirt and his blue jeans were riding low on his hips.
Tony hoped Steve couldn't see the blush that was spreading over his face, as he desperately tried not to stare at Steve's abs, his crotch or the piece of hay he was chewing on.

Now, listen here.

Next was KotaSailor's turn:

And here, another tragic "no art, just prompt" that turned out, well, actually kind of great, from Amy's not dead yet:

Tony didn't think he'd ever had a boner with his whole body before, but he'd also never seen Sheriff Rogers with his shirt and boots off, taking a break at the end of a hard day's work to enjoy the last of the sunlight. He'd shaded his eyes with his ten-gallon hat and plucked a bit of grass to chew on, eyes closed and face peaceful. His dark denim pants hung low and his happy trail led Tony's eyes even lower.

Steve may have stopped putting in fenceposts for the day, but he'd certainly erected one more pole. Tony just hoped that one wouldn't also end up wrapped in barbed wire, but he also couldn't seem to stop himself from staring appreciatively.

Maybe he'd finally get his chance to save a horse and ride that fine-ass cowboy.

With, as Snow White used to say, a smile and a song.

Well, that's about it for Broken Picture Telephone, round 2. You cannot possibly have enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed moderating it, but if even came close, you should feel very smug about how much fun you had.

A plalist is gathered at https://youtu.be/UmTqS2IBkTc and I shall try to get around to adding it to SPotify.

Post written largely by IronLawyer. Some small edits by Antrodemus. Everything less-than great is fully Antro. Tía Rodemus no tengo café. Muy triste!

To kick it all off we started with the prompt "capcake".

Antrodemus was our first artist:

Loran described this using a lovely drabble:

Tony did a double-take. Why was Steve standing there like he forgot what he was doing in the middle of drying off after training and taking a shower? And were those nipple-piercings?

He seemed lost in thought and looked more beatific than the communal shower called for. Or the nipple-piercings. Steve didn't notice Tony or make any move; he was just holding the towel in a way that was at least covering his dick, but Tony wasn't sure that it could have caught his attention more than those dang nipple-piercings anyway.

There weren't even anymore drops to be seen. Not on that set of abs and not around those piercings. Tony realized that he had stopped dead in his tracks too. He should move.

The question was: away or closer?

Next, Ironlawyer sketched:

ThingExplainer wrote:

tony finds out steve has NIPPLE PIERCINGS

Which Cathalinaheart illustrated:

GemAnthony described this as:

Tony gets pop-eyed when he sees Steve's pierced tits.

(GemAnthony also described it in GREAT [in so many senses of the word] detail [and wow do we mean that literally] here: https://brokenpictureidenticard.dreamwidth.org/757.html?thread=7669#cmt7669). We presented both prompts to the next player and offered them their choice of prompts.

The Casual Cheesecake drew two connected sketches, using elements from both:

Which Wynnesome translated into this drabble:

Tony's slouching halfway down his favorite highbacked chair. His shirt is half untucked and half unbuttoned. His eyes are half closed, his legs half open, and he's at half mast.

Steve is nothing halfway except, indefensibly, across the room. Out of all that square-slabbed, straight-striped body armor, he's one naked, sinuous s-curve from doorway-spanning shoulders, down his sloping centerline, to shield-hidden hips, legs spread wide enough to make room for everything Tony knows hangs between.

Steve's nipples are pierced, set away from his body by curving barbells, one running horizontal, one vertical. The gleam of those four tantalizing polished balls almost makes up for the two weightier ones blocked from view.

Tony swears he's gonna build a corset into the next round of the Cap suit.
Yeah. He's got boning on the brain, all right.

Steve saunters closer, closer, closer. Tony hasn't moved a muscle, hasn't managed more than half a breath.

He's already halfway there.

Last, and absolutely magnificent, Kota Sailor was our final artist:

Thank you to everyone who participated in this round. You all did wonderful work! If you so wish, feel free to post and discuss your work elsewhere now that the round is over. We hope you all had fun and will join us in the next game.

(I am happy to host'n'post, but if you post your own artwork, the game moves faster and it's harder to peek, easier to credit, and easier for you to find if you want it/ more under your control. Plus if this game takes off, I might run out of room.)

Log in, and go to https://www.dreamwidth.org/file/new . You can also get here from any page that has the sidebar menu (e.g. posting or profile pages) -- just go to "create" and select "upload images" from the dropdown menu.

Go to https://www.dreamwidth.org/file/list (under "organize" from the dropdown menu) and copy and paste the appropriate URL. Remember to preview! I've been posting with thumbnails because DW tends to display the originals as rather large for my taste. Remember to keep it anonymous until the reveal.

Have fun!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broken_Picture_Telephone

So, the rules/ steps:

1.Sign up on this post;
2. There will be a separate post for the actual game;
3. When it is your turn, you will receive either a prompt for artwork or artwork to describe;
4. If you receive artwork, describe that artwork. Get as funky as you’d like! Write a fic drabble, write a sentence, whatever you have time for. But please give the next link something to work with. None o' this, "Um, colors like a Chagall but pecs in the style of Rothko;"
5. That description will be sent on as a prompt to an artist;
6. Yes, you. You are an artist if we say you are. SILENCE, BRAINWEASELS, YOU HAVE NO PLACE HERE;
7. There is NO rule seven;
8. There are arbitrary Monty Python references, because there are in the comics. It’s canon;
9. Post that artwork as a comment on the gameplay post. All comments will be screened;
10. The artwork from step 9 will be DM’d to the next player, who will describe it;
11. Two-day turnaround. If you go over your deadline or the timing is not great right now, you’ll go to the back of the line and receive a new prompt/ artpiece later;
12. Eleven turns per game, variances to be determined by Your Friendly Neighborhood BPI mods, Antrodemus and IronLawyer. All comments on the game post will be automatically screened, and on Reveal Day, we’ll unscreen them.
13. All comments that are not actual gameplay should go on this post, for now. All gameplay posts should go on the gameplay post. We’ll DM participants with the link of the comment to which they should reply, if DW lets us do this;
14. Once each round is revealed, you are welcome and encouraged to post your contributions on AO3. If you want to remix or use a prompt, you should probably ask the author/ artist for permission, though;
15. No discussion of prompts or artwork until the round is posted;
16. Stony-themed only, for now;
17. BE NICE. That includes to yourself. “I wasn’t sure about this bit,” is as critical as you’re allowed to get, and that includes yourself;
18. When we say, “be nice,” we don’t necessarily mean “SFW’.” In fact, NSFW is encouraged;

EDITS:

RULE 19: ALL PROMPTS AND FILLS SHOULD RELATE TO STEVE, TONY, STONY, OR THE AVENGERS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. That's a pretty important rule to have left out! Sorry, all!

Rule 20: Macros of scenes from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies had darn well better relate to your prompts in some manner. Look, it makes sense to mention this. Trust us.

Rule 21: No, really. Trust us. Just not too much.

You may message either of us through Discord under these names comment on the Dreamwidth entry, or message Antro under her Dreamwidth name, [personal profile] spikethemuffin. You are also encouraged to leave comments on this post.

Have fun with it. That’s a suggestion, not a rule.

Questions? Suggestions? Bribes? We’re here for you.

FAQ:
Okay, HAQ. Hypothetically Asked Questions: We don’t actually have any questions, let alone frequent ones.

Q. : How “good” does the artwork have to be?
A: :Good? Artwork? Honey, have you SEEN my scribblings? [Antro is sent on time-out for violation of rule 17.] Stick figures are fine. In fact, if it’s confusing or ambiguous, so much the better for purposes of the game. Also, just so we’re clear, while we’re on the subject, any medium is good. MS paint? Pencil sketch? Photo manip? Twist ties turned into action figures in tiny dioramas? Hired male strippers in a series of tableaux? The sky is the limit. (Literally. Actual skywriting is prohibitively expensive and may violate rule 15.) Just make it something we can easily forward and post via Dreamwidth.

Q: Should I post questions about how to play on gameplay posts?

A: For now, post questions here, on this post, or ask us directly on Discord.

So. G-g-g-g-go!
